FAQs
Common questions about beginning therapy.
Will I be in control during hypnotherapy?
Yes. Hypnotherapy is not mind control. You remain aware, able to respond, and free to pause or stop at any time.
What are Sarah's credentials?
I hold a BA (Hons) in Criminology and Psychology. I am also a DCH student, an NBFH student with the National Board for Hypnotherapy and an NBMP student with the National Board Modern Psychotherapy.
Can sessions take place online?
Yes. I offer online psychotherapy for South Wales and across the UK, as well as in-person and walking session options in South Wales.
What can hypnotherapy and solution focused psychotherapy help with?
I work with anxiety, stress, confidence, sleep difficulties, fears, phobias, smoking, weight management, unhelpful habits, religious trauma, life after high-control groups, trauma-related symptoms, PTSD, personal growth and feeling stuck.
Can hypnotherapy help with smoking?
Yes, smoking cessation can be an area for hypnotherapy. I would talk with you first about what you want to change, what keeps the habit going, and what needs to feel different for the change to last.
Can hypnotherapy help with weight management?
Weight management can involve habits, emotions, confidence, motivation and your relationship with food. I use hypnotherapy and solution focused psychotherapy to look at the changes you want in a realistic, compassionate way.
Do you work with children and young people?
I have many years of experience in childcare and supporting families. I can discuss age-appropriate therapy for children and young people where it is suitable, safe and consent is in place.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. I treat enquiries and sessions confidentially and professionally, with the usual safeguarding limits that apply if someone is at risk of serious harm.
How do I start?
